June 2013 Foodie Penpal Reveal

I don’t have a Friday Favorites post for you this week, mainly because I didn’t have any time during my work travel week to do any blog reading or web surfing.  However, I am here to share with you my foodie penpal reveal for June.

This month, Jo Anne had me.  She was a newbie to the foodie penpal program, and she did a fabulous job picking out some fun treats for me to enjoy.

So fun!  That almond crunch was gone in about 2.5 seconds.  I enjoyed the KIND bar on the car ride down to Jill’s baby shower this Sunday.  And I’ve really been enjoying the Love Crunch granola in my vanilla Greek yogurts with berries.  The rest I haven’t tried yet, but they include a bag of mixed nuts, two organic lollipops, some raspberry balsamic vinegar (can’t wait to make a homemade salad dressing with that), and a garden dip mix.

Garden Dip

I think this bucket is so cute!  I can’t wait to try it.  Also, to see what goodies I sent to Linda, my foodie penpal, read her recap here!

May 2013 Foodie Penpal Reveal

My foodie penpal definitely spoiled me last month.

May Foodie Penpal - Michigan

Kristin, the blogger behind Clean Cupcake Crusade, sent me a super cute package from Michigan.  I knew I would love it when the first sentence of her letter was that she is a “theme kind of girl.”  Perfect, because I am too!  In fact, I just gave my friend Ashley an entire pie/custard themed gift at her bridal shower yesterday.  Kristin put together a Michigan themed package to give me a glimpse into her home state, and she took the time to explain why she included each item.

Here’s a pic of all my goodies:

May Foodie Penpal

First of all, how cute is the F cookie cutter for Fitness & Feta?  And I can never have enough baking cups.  I downed the seltzer almost immediately because I ran out of CO2 for my seltzer maker at home.  I enjoyed the apple for a pre-workout snack.  My favorite so far though is the homemade peanut butter.  It’s seriously delicious (recipe?!) and I love that Kristin sent it because I told her I’ve received an endless supply of jams/jellies in past foodie penpal months.  I haven’t tried the other items yet, but they’re in the cabinet just waiting for me.  That asparagus guac is especially calling my name.

April 2013 Foodie Penpal Reveal

Hey guys!  I have so much catching up on the blog to do between recapping our North Conway adventures and sharing my wonderful experience at The Studio Empower last night.  I just haven’t had time yet between everything I have going on at work this week and catching up on hours of emails just from being away one weekend.  Yep, you read that correctly.  Hours.  Plural.

But I’m not complaining because there are lots of exciting things going on behind those emails!  I just feel a little behind and know I over-committed myself this week.  I would normally write “what else is new?” but I have honestly been so much better about that.  Anyways, I want to share what I received this month in my Foodie Penpal package, then it’s back to the grind!

Here are the goodies that Aimee sent me:

Foodie Penpals April 2013

— First up were pistachios from Publix, a southern grocery store chain.  Tim and I brought these along to North Conway last weekend and munched on them as we drove through the Kancamagus Highway.  My favorite part MIGHT be that they say pistachio MUSTACHIO on them.  Amazing.

— Next you can see the strawberry pepper jam from a farmers market held at Emory University every week.  Aimee wrote she picked this one for its unique flavor, and I can’t wait to try it.  I kind of want to bake something with it?  Thoughts?

— Local honey was next, from the Savannah Bee Company.  But this wasn’t just any honey… it’s CHEESE honey.  Perfect timing since I’m hosting wine and cheese night on Thursday!

— Finally, another Publix treat.  Organic wheat crackers that were inhaled in about 2.5 seconds flat.  Yum!

Aimee was a fun penpal to have because she lives in Atlanta, and as you guys know I was in Atlanta last month for work.  She also is a former Bostonian, so we had a few things in common as we found out in our email correspondence!  Aimee also took the time to make me a perfume!  She makes bath and body products as a hobby and thought she’d throw in a little something extra.  It’s white tea and ginger… super fun.

Homemade Perfume

I’ve said it before, but I would like to reiterate that receiving my foodie penpal box to the doorstep every month is just thrilling.
